Week 2 Posting - DIMM Flex
DDR5 is the newest mass-market RAM that people can purchase for their PCs. However, much like other components that have evolved over time, the amount of power we can push out of this RAM creates heat, and that heat can lead to problems. Asus has developed a way of hopefully mitigating this, all while offering a potential boost in performance as well. DIMM Flex is a technology that is found on the new Asus ROG Z790 line of motherboards that places a thermal sensor next to the DIMM slots and automatically boosts or throttles performance depending on the temperature of the RAM. While researching one of these motherboards, I stumbled upon this page going into more detail here.
